
3-Day Electric Bike Tour
~Off the beaten track in Tokyo~
This area, which is called Nishitama, is a neighborhood located to the west of the metropolitan area in Tokyo. There are no crowds, no skyscrapers and no bustle of a city, but there are mountains, rivers, good old Japanese culture and sound of nature. It's a part of a national park. In such surroundings, people and nature coexist in harmony.

Day 1 ~Hidden area in Tokyo~

1. Meet at JR Musashi-itsukaichi Station
Meet a guide at the ticket gate in the station.

Rent a bike and depart for an adventurous cycling in the mountain side of Tokyo.
On this day, we will go up to a mountain after a moderate cycling along the Akigawa Gorge.
Akigawa River runs through this area and it's a sources of environmental sustainability around here. Enjoy seeing beautiful scenery of a stream. After lunch, we will run 12 km-long uphill road to ride a exciting vehicle to the hidden area.

2. Historic Temple "Koutokuji Temple"
This historic temple, founded in 1373, is standing in a quiet area with a thatch-roofed entrance gate covered with moss.
In the precincts of this temple, there are huge Kaya tree (=Japanese torreya 24.5 m) and Tara Yow tree (=Latifolia 19.1 m) designated as a natural monument of Tokyo Metropolis. Also, there are cherry trees and gigantic Ginkgo trees. So you can enjoy the nature of seasons like beautiful views of cherry blossoms in spring, changing leaves in autumn.

3. Lunch at Local Restaurant
Enjoy Japanese dishes like ramen noodles, rice bowls and curry rices.


4. Monorail Ride & Traditional Folk House
There is one traditional house built in the early 18th century with a thatched roof on a mountain.
A small monorail car takes us to this historical architecture located at an altitude of 750 meters. This vehicle slowly goes up on a steep slope and it’s so exciting.
At the top of the ridge, azaleas bloom in bright pink and a festival is held in spring.
You will see the inside of the important cultural property and a life style of those days.

5. Foot Bathing in a hot spring
Bathing foot in a hot spring is popular in Japan. By promoting blood circulation, your whole body gets warm without taking all your clothes off. There are many nerves in foot as known as a second heart, so you can also expect relaxing and detoxification effects.
6. Conclude at JR Musashi-itsukaichi Station
After returning e-bikes, we will go to a city hotel by train.

Day 2 ~Country side in Tokyo~
Total Distance: 25km Level: Easy


1. Depart from JR Fussa Station
Rent a bike and depart for countryside scenery cycling in Tokyo. We call this area SATOYAMA which means a countryside where people and nature coexist in harmony.
Relax and feel the life-style of countryside in Japan.

2. Ishikawa Sake Brewery
Established in 1863, Ishikawa Sake Brewery is a distinguished sake maker that brew beer besides sake. There are many Kura buildings, which are traditional storehouses in Japan and used as brewing facilities by Sake breweries. Those buildings were built during the 19th and 20th century and nationally registered a cultural heritage.

3. Lunch at a restaurant in the brewery
This restaurant features Italian dishes and they serve hand-made pasta and pizza, and even seasonal specials.

4. Historic shrine "Amemushu Shrine"
This shrine is said to be founded in the second half of the 16th century, and the present main hall was re-built in 1849. In the main hall, some statues of characters from historical events of China are enshrined.
The most remarkable thing of this shrine is 196 steps of staircase. This long climbing might be harder than cycling.

5. 12 meter tall statue of Buddha "Rokuya Daibutsu"
The second tallest Great Buddha in Japan, following the Great Buddha of Nara, has been unveiled at Houkouji Temple in 2018. Let's see the brand-new bronze statue.

6. Overnight at a traditional ryokan "Arasawaya"
Relax in a Japanese-style room with tatami mats and paper sliding door. This Japanese-style inn was established over 100 years ago and we can soak in a hot spring.

Day 3 ~River side in Tokyo~
Total Distance: 20km Level: Easy

1. Depart from JR Okutama Station
Rent a bike and depart for breezing cycling in Tokyo. Okutama is located in mountain area and we will go down the road along Tama River on this day. Feel a breezing and see the beautiful scenery.

2. Shiromaru Dam Fish Ladder
330 meter-long fish pass, which is one of the longest ladder for fish in Japan, helps fish to swim upstream.

3. Hatonosu Gorge
Beneath an approximately 40 meter-long cliff, the Tama river runs amidst the huge crags and rocks of Okutama's gorgeous ravine. Many people enjoy fishing, camping, walking and more. We can see gorgeous colorful leaves changing in Autumn.

4. Soba (Buckwheat) Noodles for Lunch
Soba noodles, which are made from buckwheat, are popular over here because of the fresh water from spring. Served with "tempura" deep-fried local vegetables.
5. Conclude at JR Ome Station
Get on a train bound for Tokyo metropolitan area.
