Nishitama Golden Route

It is an excellent trip covering the main tourist attractions in the Tama and Akigawa river areas, which run like the backbone of the Nishi-Tama region. Furthermore, there is a tour of Mt. Mitake, the biggest tourist attraction in Nishitama, which is sandwiched between two rivers. Moreover, the offer is designed for small groups, allowing for a slow, relaxed, and luxurious journey.

AKIGAWA RIVER AREA

Hinohara Village/ Hinode Town / Fussa-City

The Akigawa River flows through the region and is a source of environmental sustainability. It has no dams, which is extremely rare for a river in Japan.
The river's Ayu fish(Sweetfish) have been awarded the Grand Prix for Ayu fish for many years. Experience the beautiful scenery of the river and the people's lives there.

~ Mt. Mitake - One of the hidden gems in the countryside of Tokyo ~

Mt. Mitake is located in Ome-city, Tokyo, and has been worshiped since the Musashi Mitake shrine was supposedly founded on the top of the mountain over 2,000 years ago.
In the 17th century, visiting the mountain to pray at the shine on a pilgrimage became popular.
The village surrounded by the shrine was made of Shinto priest families and they offered pilgrimage accommodations as
temple lodgings. Some of them are still in business now and are available for anybody who wishes to spend a night experiencing temple lodging.
The lodgings are very simple, but they serve delicious home-cooked meals also guests can enjoy a beautiful night view of central Tokyo from the peaceful and quiet mountain with fresh air at nighttime. The experience would be similar to staying on Mt. Koya for most tourists, but this mountain is not as famous as Mt. Koya or other Tokyo mountains like Mt Takao.
Mt. Mitake is accessible from downtown Tokyo compared with Mt.Koya. Moreover, you can explore other beautiful attractions besides the shrine and village as a private visit.
We recommend enjoying the rich nature on a day or 2-day Mt. Mitake short trip from downtown Tokyo as a part of your travel itinerary in Japan.
